Cable is point-to-point. Busway is a backbone. New loads on cable need new runs; busway adds a tap-off. At 800V DC, expansion speed and voltage-drop management often favor busway on larger C&I floors.
Engineers specify busway by voltage class, current class, and section type — not as an arbitrary kW SKU. Cable remains appropriate for short, fixed runs and edge devices.
Design targets for Joule Junction DC BusWay include plug-in tap-offs, touch-safe isolation, and modular expansion from commercial blocks to multi-MW campuses. All maturity is design-target until certified SKUs ship.
