Open Architecture

Every interface is designed to be standards-based. Every component sits on a common DC bus. No single-vendor lock-in as the design goal. Open because utility integration demands it. Native IEEE 2030.5 architecture. The digital layer across DC BUS, Metering, and Energy Management.

Why open?

Closed systems fail at utility scale

Proprietary energy platforms can work in single-vendor deployments. They break when the utility needs a different DERMS, when the fleet operator brings its own chargers, or when the building owner changes EMS providers. Every closed protocol becomes a negotiation. Every adapter is a failure point.

Open architecture means IEEE 2030.5 for DER communication, OCPP 2.0.1 / 2.1 for EV charging, ISO 15118-20 for V2X, and IEC 62443 for cybersecurity. Joule Junction OS is the digital layer designed to run across DC BUS, Metering, and Energy Management.

How it works

One digital layer across three pillars

JJ OS carries protocols, communications, and security. Energy Management is the application layer on top.
