- What is Joule Junction?
- Joule Junction is building the open DC platform for commercial and industrial infrastructure — DC BUS, Metering, and Energy Management — designed for global markets and manufactured in China.
- Is the hardware shipping?
- Catalog hardware is currently design-target maturity. Public pages use “designed for / targeting / engineered to” language until SKUs reach pilot, shipping, or certified status.
- Which standards does the platform design around?
- Designed around IEEE 2030.5, OCPP 2.0.1/2.1, ISO 15118-2/20, IEC, IEC 62443, and CSIP-AUS. That means open-standards architecture — not a claim of completed certification for every SKU.
- What scale does the platform cover?
- Operating envelope for C&I DC infrastructure is typically 50 kW–10 MW, with AC EV endpoints at 7/11/22 kW and capacity families from DC Edge through DC Campus Grid.
- What is the DC BUS?
- The DC BUS is the physical DC backbone — SST, BusWay, PCS, protection, and grid interface in one architecture — so sources and loads share a common distribution spine. Current flagship voltage is 800 V DC; the platform is designed for future voltage classes as they mature.
- Is the platform open or proprietary?
- Joule Junction designs for open standards (IEEE 2030.5, OCPP, ISO 15118, IEC) so sites are not locked to a single proprietary protocol stack by design.
- Where is it manufactured?
- Manufactured in Foshan, China, under the independent Joule Junction brand — designed for global markets.
- Who buys the platform?
- Primary buyers include site owners, fleet operators, plant operations, data-centre developers, utilities/DNSPs, and EPCs specifying multi-load C&I electrical architecture.
- How do we start an engagement?
- Bring site type, approximate capacity, DER mix, grid constraints, and expansion plans. The first conversation is architecture fit — not a catalogue dump.
- What does design-target mean?
- Design-target means the product or outcome is defined as architecture intent — not pilot-proven, shipping inventory, or certified performance — until maturity advances.
