Grid Edge

Every C&I project starts with one question: can I connect? The grid edge is where the DC BUS meets the utility — and where architecture matters most.

The problem

Connection is the bottleneck

Grid connection queues stretch years in AU, EU, and MENA. Export limits, demand charges, and transformer upgrade costs block electrification. The grid edge is where architecture answers the connection question — before the first SKU is specified.

The DC BUS is designed with the grid edge as a first-class architectural layer, not an afterthought. Grid-forming and grid-following PCS modes, export limiting, dynamic connection management, and Volt/VAR optimisation are platform capabilities — not bolted-on features.

IEEE 2030.5-native metering at the grid edge means the utility sees a well-behaved partner, not a black box. This is architecture intent — hardware maturity is design-target until each SKU advances.

Capabilities

Grid interface — design targets

  • Grid-forming PCS
  • Grid-following PCS
  • Export limiting
  • Dynamic connection management
  • Volt/VAR optimisation
  • Frequency response
  • Black start capability
  • Utility interoperability

Buyer path

From connection constraint to architecture

Start with the connection limit. Size storage and controls to the constraint before pricing copper upgrades. The PCS enforces export limits at the grid edge. BESS on the DC bus supplies peaks without raising the connection. IEEE 2030.5-native metering supports utility-visible behaviour.

This is the Grid Capacity solution — architecture-first, not component-first.
